Thinking Machines Corporation is searching for talented and ambitious
Software Engineers (including senior-level applicants) to join their
Parallel I/O team.  The main task for this team is to design and
implement a parallel file system as a part of TMC's portable parallel
software environment for networks of workstations and other
architectures.  The Parallel I/O team has also become an active leader
in the emerging MPI-IO standard by implementing a high-quality MPI-IO
library that is integrated with the rest of the TMC software
environment.

Required qualifications:
------------------------
+ M.S. or Ph.D. in computer science, or a related field
+ experience in parallel software design and implementation 
+ some familiarity with the Unix file system
+ willingness to learn

Desired qualifications:
-----------------------
+ familiarity with various flavors of Unix (Solaris, IRIX, etc.)
+ experience with parallel file systems
+ knowledge about commercial RAID subsystems
