         * ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR TALKS *
         * FOR THE 2ND EUROPEAN CRAY MPP WORKSHOP *
         ***********************************************

Introduction
------------

This announcement is addressed to computational scientists and engineers
working in applications development, system administration or software
support on Cray MPP platforms installed anywhere in Europe. Please
forward it freely to anyone who might be interested.

Announcement
------------

The 2nd European Cray MPP Workshop is a two-day event, hosted by the
Edinburgh Parallel Computing Centre and supported by the UK's High
Performance Computing Initiative and Cray UK.

It will be held at EPCC in Edinburgh, Scotland on 25 and 26 July 1996.
The workshop follows on from the very successful 1st European Cray T3D
Workshop held by EPFL in Lausanne in September 1995.

Call for Presentations
----------------------

We are looking for talks or posters on the following subjects:

o Applications in Science and Engineering
 o Cray MPP Systems Management
 o Programming Models
 o Performance Optimisation

Closing date for speaker registration is 17 May 1996. Those wishing to
attend but not speak should register by 31 May. Judging by the success
of the first meeting, we advise you to register early especially if you
wish to give a talk.

The programme of talks will be selected by the Organising Committee.
This is chaired by David Henty and comprises Stephen Booth, Caroline
Neave and Alan Simpson from EPCC; Rob Allan from the Daresbury
Laboratory; Zdenek Sekera from Cray Research Switzerland (CRAY-EPFL PATP
project).

Accommodation
-------------

Accommodation is extremely difficult to find in Edinburgh during the
tourist season. We have pre-booked a number of rooms in convenient,
low-cost accommodation at Pollock student halls of residence. The
charge is 30 pounds per night for bed-and-breakfast and includes bus
transport to the workshop. These rooms will be offered on a first-come
first-served basis.

Registration
------------

For further details and a registration form see

This form also enables you to request accommodation. If you have any
problems please email workshop@epcc.ed.ac.uk.

We look forward to meeting you in Edinburgh in July,
