I just installed mpich 1.0.9 on an IBM with AIX 4.1.1 and xlC. I am using
the ch_p4 that came with the mpich distribution. Everything seemed to build
okay (with the exception that the ch_p4 configure doesn't recognize xlC).
But when I tried to run some of the test programs it would seem to hang - that
is I could see that the process was running on each of my processors but it
never printed anything. I even wrote a hello world program that also never
returned.

In trying to debug my problem I did a run using the -v option to mpirun -
Suddenly everything works. Any ideas on why?

When the President passed the pens and was told about the roosters, he asked
"Same hen every time?" "Oh no, Mr. President, a different one each time."
The President nodded slowly, then said, "Tell that to Mrs. Coolidge."
