Northeast Parallel Architectures Center at Syracuse University
is currently organizing a training session for SP2 system administrators.
The primary goal of this session is to provide in-depth training for a group
of our own new people. We have attempted to sign them on for the classes in
IBM facilities, but these are booked solid until August.

We have decided to bring the IBM instructor to Syracuse and shutdown
our SP2 for the training duration to all usrs so that we can offer identical e
nvironment as the IBM training center. The trainees will be able to take the
machine apart and put it back together under IBM instructor supervision.

Since the cost of the training is rather high, we decided to open it to
external participants. We seek financial contribution on the cost recovery
basis and expect to be able to offer training participation at a cost much
lower than the official IBM class.

This is one-in-the-lifetime opportunity - we have no plans to repeat the
event. The 4.5 days training session is scheduled to start June 12th.

In addition to the IBM instructor, the platform, and the facilities, NPAC
will offer limited assistance in booking hotels and organizing a catering
service for the participants. The class contents will be equivalent to
IBM SP2 Implementation Workshop offered periodically in Dallas.

The price of the training session will depend on the number of external
participants, but we expect to keep it around $1,500 per person. Please,
inquire atIBM for the price of identical training session in their facilities.

In the case somebody is ready to flame me for commercial use of this group,
please, note that this is NOT a commercial offering. Given the difficulty
in signing to the IBM classes, I believe that our training session is rather
attractive and that the readers of this group can benefit from it.

Interested persons and institutions please contact me as soon as possible.
We will require a PO # to take a reservation.
