MPI is a message-passing library specification, not a particular
implementation. Discussion of implementations is of course
appropriate here, but specific problems with any particular
implementation of MPI are probably best sent directly to the
implementors. This discussion group is then kept free for
discussions that pertain to the MPI standard itself and thus to all
implementations.

In the case of MPICH, the portable implementation from Argonne and
Mississippi State, problems and questions are most efficiently
handled if sent to mpi-bugs@mcs.anl.gov. This distributes them
to all the MPICH authors and also puts them into our problem-tracking
system (req), which makes it easier for us to keep track of
dialogs with users, outstanding problems, and fixes. Thanks.
