I have written a simple MPI tutorial, called

The LAM companion to ``Using MPI...''

The tutorial can be obtained using Mosaic from

        ftp://cisr.anu.edu.au/pub/papers/meglicki/mpi/tutorial/mpi/mpi.html

or, just the LaTeX file:

        ftp://cisr.anu.edu.au/pub/papers/meglicki/mpi/tutorial/mpi.tex

The tutorial is based on the latest book by Gropp, Lusk, and Skjellum
``Using MPI, Portable Parallel Programming with the Message-Passing
Interface'', The MIT Press, ISBN 0-262-57104-8. The book is highly
recommended.

Although the tutorial is selfcontained, it should not be seen as
a replacement for the book -- rather, it is just what the title
says: the companion to the book for LAM users. I had to modify
slightly some examples from the book to get them going under LAM.
All examples in the tutorial are in C. The tutorial has been developed
specially for a two day MPI course we plan to give at the Australian
National University. Material currently available on-line covers
the first day.

If you find any errors or inaccuracies in the tutorial I would be
most grateful for your comments.

Happy hacking and greetings from Down Under,
