This file contains check lists of actions to be performed while installing
PADE Version 1.4 and while setting up the user's environment.  For details
of the steps, see the PADE Installation Guide and PADE User's Manual in the
pade_doc subdirectory.

Installation
------------

   Verify that PVM Version 3.0 or later is installed

   Verify that Tcl/Tk Version 8.0 or later are installed

   (Optional) Verify that XPVM is installed

   (Optional) Verify that a World Wide Web browser (such as Mosaic or Netscape)
   is installed

   Obtain and unpack the PADE distribution

   Follow the directions in nist_pade/pade/README to install PADE

   Follow the directions in nist_pade/caml_utils/README to install the CAML
   utilities

   Install the CAML utilites on all machines that will be remote hosts

User set up
-----------

   Make sure the following environment variables are set: PVM_ROOT, PVM_ARCH,
   TCL_LIBRARY, TK_LIBRARY, PADE_ROOT

   (Optional) Mare sure the following environment variables are set: XPVM_ROOT,
   EDITOR

   Make sure your executables path has the following directories:
   $HOME/pvm3/bin/$PVM_ARCH
   $PADE_ROOT/caml_utils/$PVM_ARCH
   $PADE_ROOT/pade
   $PVM_ROOT/lib
   $PVM_ROOT/lib/$PVM_ARCH
   (Optional) $XPVM_ROOT/src/$PVM_ARCH

   Run padeinituser

   Place all remote hosts in $HOME/.rhosts
